Agonis

Agonis of Lilybaeum, a freedwoman of Venus Erycina with a slave establishment of some value, whose litigation against Q. Caecilius Niger (the would-be prosecutor of Verres) is the subject of a substantial digression in the Divinatio in Caecilium 55-57. Cicero uses the case to discredit Caecilius's claim to act for the Sicilians.
