Ammonius

also: Hammonius, Hammonius regis legatus

The agent and envoy (legatus) of Ptolemy XII Auletes who lobbied and bribed the senate at Rome in 56 BC to secure the king's armed restoration to Egypt. Cicero reports him 'openly using money against us' in the contest over the Alexandrian command.
