Pseudo-Philip
also: Pseudophilippus, Pseudo-Philip, the false Philip
A pretender who claimed to be Philip, a son of Perseus of Macedon, and seized the Macedonian throne, sparking the Fourth Macedonian War (149-148 BC). He was defeated by Quintus Caecilius Metellus Macedonicus, whose triumph Cicero cites among Rome's hard-won victories over Greek-world enemies.
