Manius Aquillius

M'. Aquillius

Roman consul 129 BC (colleague of C. Sempronius Tuditanus), who completed the suppression of Aristonicus's revolt and organised the province of Asia; his consulship dates the dramatic setting of Cicero's De Re Publica. Distinct from his son M'. Aquillius, cos. 101.
