Archelaus of Athens

Archelaus

also: Archelaum, Archelaus, the pupil of Anaxagoras

A Pre-Socratic natural philosopher, pupil of Anaxagoras and reputedly the teacher of Socrates. Cicero names him as the link in the chain by which philosophy passed from cosmology to Socrates, who turned it toward ethics.
