Cornelius medicus

also: Cornelius the doctor, Artemidorum Pergaeum, Artemidorus of Perga

Artemidorus of Perga in Pamphylia, a Greek doctor (medicus) who in his own city had been the guide for Verres's plundering of the temple of Artemis. Later naturalised under Sulla as Cornelius, he reappeared in Sicily as one of Verres's appointed recuperatores in the fraudulent case against Nympho (Verr. 2.3.28; 2.3.54).
