Boethus of Chalcedon (active second century BC), the celebrated Hellenistic toreutic artist whose embossed silver vessels were prized among Roman collectors. At Verr. 2.4.32 Cicero recounts the story of a hydria by Boethus's hand seized by Verres from his Lilybaean guest-friend Pamphilus.
