Gaius Cassius Longinus

C. Cassius the censor

also: C. Cassius, Cassius the censor

Censor of 154 BC who proposed to move a statue of Concord into the Curia and dedicate it, but referred the matter to the pontiffs and was told he could not do so without an order of the people. Cicero contrasts his scrupulousness with Clodius's lawless consecration.
