C. Claudius Nero, praetor (c. 81 BC) and propraetor of Asia; the Samians sent embassies to him complaining of Verres's plundering of the Heraeum, but he referred them to Rome (Verr. 2.1.50). Probably the father of the Tiberius Claudius Nero who was praetor in 42 and grandfather of the emperor Tiberius.
