C. Claudius Pulcher, son of Ap. Claudius Pulcher (cos. 143), praetor c. 95 BC, consul in 92, and aedile in 99 BC at the celebrated games for which he borrowed the Cupid of Praxiteles from the Heii of Messana (Verr. 2.4.6). He was given the task of reorganising the senate of Halaesa (Verr. 2.2.122) and was a model of the proper Roman patron, the figure Cicero contrasts with Verres.
