Gaius Cluvius

Cluvius

also: C. Cluvius, CLVVIO, Cluvius

Addressee of Fam. 13.7; held a commission (negotium) from Caesar relating to land in Cisalpine Gaul, suggesting an administrative or land-allocation role. The MS headnote gives praenomen Gaius. Possibly identical with the Marcus Cluvius who was a banker at Puteoli (person:m-cluvius-puteolanus), but the C. praenomen and Gallic commission leave the identification uncertain; flagged as crux.
