Gaius Plotius

Plotius

also: Caius Plotius, C. Plotius, Gaius Plotius, Plotius

A distinguished Roman knight of Nursia whose dying oral request that an inheritance reach his wife was honored, unsolicited and unprovable, by the upright Sextus Peducaeus. Cicero adduces the episode in De Finibus 2.58 to show that good men keep faith from duty, not from hope of reward.
