Gaius Rutilius Rufus

P. Rutilius Rufus (Cicero appears here to write Gaius by slip), consul 105 BC, the rigid Stoic and jurist whose condemnation for repetundae in 92 BC after his honest legateship of Asia was the most notorious miscarriage of equestrian justice of Cicero's youth. He had earlier been a subscriptor with P. Lentulus in the prosecution of M'. Aquillius (Div. in Caec. 69; Brut. 113-114).
