Sempronius Rufus

Roman senator and habitual prosecutor, an enemy of Cicero and Caelius; in 51 BC he was condemned for vexatious prosecution (calumnia) after charging M. Tuccius under the lex Plotia de vi. Distinct from the vaguer Sempronius of Fam. 12.25.
