C. Varro

also: Gaius Varro

C. Visellius Varro, military tribune in Asia c. 80 BC, witness in the Verrines (2.1.71) to the events at Lampsacum. He was a younger contemporary of Cicero, with a notable but short forensic career; Cicero in the Brutus (264) calls him singularly learned and eloquent, dead before his prime.
