Quintus Caecilius
Q. Caecilius Niger, born in Sicily of a freedman family (probably of the Caecilii Metelli), quaestor under Verres in the province, then candidate for the prosecution at Rome on the pretext that the Sicilians had charged him with the cause. Cicero displaces him by the Divinatio in Caecilium and treats him there as a corrupt tool of Verres.
