Caecilius Tryphon

Tryphon

also: Tryphon, Tryphonem Caecilium, Caecilius Tryphon

An agent or freedman (the cognomen Tryphon and gentile Caecilius suggest a freedman of the Caecilii) connected with Atticus's correspondence during Cicero's exile. Mentioned only at Att. 3.8 ("Caecilius Tryphon I have not seen"); otherwise unknown. Distinct from Q. Caecilius, Atticus's uncle.
