Clitomachus of Carthage

Clitomachus

also: Clitomachum

Academic philosopher of the second century BC, pupil and successor of Carneades as head of the Academy, prolific in committing Carneades' teaching to writing. Cicero (Orator 51) cites Carneades' jest that Clitomachus said the same things, but Charmadas said them in the same manner too.
