Sallustius, a literary friend and correspondent of Cicero, frequently mentioned in Ad Quintum fratrem and Ad Atticum in the years 54-44 BC; a sober advisor whose judgement Cicero respected without always following (e.g. on the defence of Gabinius, Ad Q. fr. 3.4). Not the historian C. Sallustius Crispus.
