Diodorus of Tyre

Diodorus

also: Diodorus, Diodorum, Diodorus the Peripatetic

A Peripatetic philosopher, pupil and successor of Critolaus as head of the Lyceum, who modified the school's account of the highest good by adding freedom from pain to moral worth (honestas). Cicero repeatedly pairs him with Callipho in De Finibus as a representative of the "mixed" ends that combine virtue with an external addition.
