Eurystheus

King of Mycenae and Tiryns who, at Juno's instigation, imposed the Twelve Labors upon Hercules. In the dying Hercules' speech from Sophocles' Trachiniae (quoted by Cicero) he is named as a source of past affliction less grievous than the robe sent by Deianira.
