Gorgias

also: Gorgias

A rhetoric tutor at Athens useful to the younger Marcus Cicero for daily declamation; Cicero the elder ordered him dismissed in 44 BC, apparently as a bad moral influence. Author of a Greek treatise on figures. Distinct from the classical sophist Gorgias of Leontini.
