Heracleo

Heracleo, the Cilician pirate captain whose squadron defeated Verres's fleet off Helorus in 71 BC and afterwards sailed unhindered into the harbour of Syracuse itself (Verr. 2.5.91-100). His name is the climax of the naval narrative; nothing of him is known outside the Verrines.
