Hilarus (Cicero's freedman accountant)

Hilarus

A freedman of Cicero, an accountant (ratiocinator) and client of Atticus, whom rumour (Att. 1.12.2) placed with the proconsul C. Antonius in Macedonia, said to be collecting a secret share of Antonius's takings for Cicero. Distinct from Hilarus the freedman of Cn. Otacilius Naso.
