Lucius Calpurnius Bestia

L. Bestia (cos. 111)

also: L. Bestia, Lucius Bestia

Consul of 111 BC, colleague of P. Scipio; as tribune he restored P. Popilius, driven out by C. Gracchus. A keen man, not without eloquence, who had a grim end to his consulship and was condemned by the Mamilian inquiry (Brutus 128).
