L. Calpurnius Piso (Caesoninus), praetor in Spain c. 113 BC and there killed in battle, father of the L. Piso who was praetor in the late 80s. Cicero recalls the story of his austerity over a broken gold ring (Verr. 2.4.56) as a foil to Verres's vulgar greed.
