L. Cassius Ravilla

also: L. Cassius, Lucius Cassius

Consul of 127 BC and censor, author of the ballot law (lex tabellaria) and a proverbially severe judge (the 'cui bono?' man). Cicero (Brutus 97, 106) says he had great power not by eloquence but by speaking, through grimness and severity.
