Lucius Clodius, tribune of the plebs designate at the time of Ad Brutum 1.1 (43 BC), a close friend of Cicero who had been advanced by Mark Antony's patronage but was seen by Cicero as genuinely loyal to the republican cause. Not to be confused with the notorious Publius Clodius Pulcher.
