Lucius Cornelius Lentulus Niger
Lentulus Niger
also: Lentulus, L. Lentulus Niger
L. Cornelius Lentulus Niger, flamen Martialis, an optimate of high standing who had stood for the consulship and died after an illness in 56 BC. Cicero mourns him in Att. 4.6 as a great-souled patriot spared the ruin of the commonwealth; he was the father of the L. Lentulus who prosecuted Gabinius in 54.
