L. Licinio Q. Mucio consulibus

also: Lucius Licinius and Quintus Mucius

L. Licinius Crassus (cos. 95 BC), the supreme orator of the generation before Cicero and the chief speaker of De Oratore; and Q. Mucius Scaevola Pontifex (his consular colleague), the pre-eminent jurist of his day. Their joint consulship is invoked at Verr. 2.2.122 as a chronological marker for the Halaesan senate-decree.
