L. Hortensius, an early member of the gens to which Q. Hortensius Hortalus, Verres's advocate, belonged; cited (so the scholiasts) in the Verrines for a strict edict on the Sicilian tithes (Verr. 2.3.42). The identification is doubtful and the man is in any case obscure.
