Lucius Iulius

L. Julius Caesar, consul 90 BC and author of the lex Julia which extended Roman citizenship to the loyal Italian allies during the Social War; censor 89. He served himself as a Roman commander against the Italians and is named at Pro Fonteio 43 in the catalogue of Social-War legates. Uncle of the dictator.
