L. Octavius Balbus, an iudex of the first rank cited at Verr. 2.2.31 as the type of the strict and learned judge whose verdict could not be reproached. Distinct from L. Octavius (cos. 75); probably the praetor of c. 81 BC of the same name. Otherwise unknown.
