Consul of 66 BC together with M'. Aemilius Lepidus; in their consulship the so-called first Catilinarian conspiracy was said to have been formed, when Torquatus's father was consul-designate. He later presided over the consilium that barred the convicted Autronius and Sulla from taking the consulship.
