Lycurgus (the orator)

Athenian orator and financial statesman (c. 390-324 BC), one of the ten Attic orators, famous for prosecuting and managing public revenues. Cicero (Brutus 36, 130) names him among the orators, and compares M. Brutus the prosecutor to him. Distinct from Lycurgus of Sparta.
