Lysimachus

also: Lysimachus rex, King Lysimachus

One of Alexander the Great's successors (Diadochi), king of Thrace and later of Macedon (d. 281 BC), proverbial for cruelty. He threatened the philosopher Theodorus of Cyrene with crucifixion, who answered with contempt for the fate of his corpse.
