Son of the elder Lyso of Lilybaeum (person:lyso-lilybitanus) and grandson of an unnamed notable. His family was one of the highest standing in western Sicily. Cicero commends him to proconsul Glabrio in 46 BC (Fam. 13.34), citing an inherited ancestral guest-friendship (avitum hospitium).
