Manius Acilius Glabrio
Glabrio
also: M'. Acilius Glabrio, Acilio, Acilio proconsuli, ACILIO PROCONSVLI, Glabrionis
Manius Acilius Glabrio, proconsul (governor) of Sicily in 46–45 BC, the recipient of Cicero's run of recommendation letters Fam. 13.30–39. Distinct from the M'. Acilius Glabrio who presided as praetor over the trial of Verres in 70 BC (the stub person:m-glabrio) — an earlier member of the same gens; the identification of the two is a prosopographical crux left for a later merge decision.
