Calidium

also: Calidius

M. Calidius, praetor 57 BC and senator of consular ability, one of the most polished orators of Cicero's generation (Brut. 274-278); friend of Cicero from at least the 50s. He spoke for Cicero's recall in 57 (Post red. in sen. 22) and served as envoy to Caesar in 49. Distinct from the Calidius of Pro Plancio.
