Cluvius

also: Cluvius of Puteoli, Cluvius Puteolanus

Banker and financier of Puteoli, an intimate friend of Cicero, with extensive lending interests in the Greek cities of Asia. Pompey was a backer of his Asian business; Cicero pressed his case repeatedly with the governors of Asia and Bithynia in 51--50 BC. Mentioned in his will Cicero among his heirs (Att. 13.46.3).
