M'. Glabrione praetore

also: Manius Glabrio the praetor, Glabrionis, Glabrio, M'. Glabrione, Manius Glabrio, Glabrio ... dismissing the council

M'. Acilius Glabrio, praetor 70 BC and presiding magistrate (quaesitor) at the trial of Verres; consul 67. He was appointed to the eastern command against Mithridates by the lex Acilia of 67 (Pro lege Manilia 5, 26) but accomplished nothing and was superseded by Pompey. Verres's prosecution succeeded in good part owing to his fair conduct of the proceedings (Verr. 2.1.30; 2.5.76).
