Marcus Horatius

M. Horatius

The legendary surviving Horatius brother of early Rome, who killed his own sister and was acquitted on appeal to the assembly of the people. Cicero cites him as the first capital trial at Rome of a self-confessed killer, to refute the claim that confession bars defence.
