M. Perperna Veiento, praetor c. 82 BC and Marian; legate of M. Aemilius Lepidus 78 and afterwards Sertorius's senior officer in Spain. He betrayed and murdered Sertorius in 73 and was promptly executed by Pompey (Verr. 2.5.153). Not to be confused with the censor of 86.
