M. Piso

M. Pupius Piso Frugi Calpurnianus, adopted from the Calpurnii Pisones; quaestor under Carbo in 83, praetor c. 72, consul 61 BC. A man of Greek learning, host of Cicero's youth (De fin. 5), and an unstable optimate (cf. Phil. 2.62; Verr. 2.1.37; Pro Planc. 51). The man under whom Verres rendered his Cinnan accounts.
