Menander

The leading poet of Athenian New Comedy (c. 342-291 BC), whose plays were the models for the Latin comedies of Caecilius and Terence. Cicero invokes him as the Greek original behind Latin adaptations such as Caecilius's Synephebi and Terence's Andria.
