Mentor of Athens (4th century BC), the most famous toreutic artist of antiquity, working chiefly in silver; his cups commanded extraordinary prices in the late Republic. Diodorus the Maltese had a celebrated pair of Mentoreum opus cups which Verres tried to seize (Verr. 2.4.38).
