Oedipus

Theban hero of myth, son of Laius, fated to kill his father and marry his mother. Cicero (De Fato 30, 33) uses the oracle of his birth as a case of Chrysippus's co-fated events and as proof that Apollo could foretell only what causes in nature made necessary.
