P. Annius Asellus

also: Publius Annius Asellus, P. Annius, Publius Annius

P. Annius Asellus, a Roman testator who died in 75 BC leaving an only daughter, on whom the lex Voconia did not bear because he had not been formally rated in the census. Verres as urban praetor in 74 framed his edict and decree so as to disinherit her — the leading case in Cicero's exposition of Verres's manipulation of the inheritance law (Verr. 2.1.104-114).
