Publius Crassus

P. Licinius Crassus, consul 97 BC, censor 89, augur, father of M. Crassus the triumvir. He governed Spain and served as a legate in the Social War (Pro Fonteio 43); he killed himself in Marius's purge of 87 BC. A man of varied learning praised in the Brutus.
