Patroclus

The companion of Achilles in the Iliad; in the Latin tragic adaptation Cicero quotes (the wounded Eurypylus episode, from Ennius), the wounded warrior addresses Patroclus, seeking his help to bind a battle wound. Cicero uses the scene to illustrate the endurance of pain by a trained soldier.
